📺 Imagine switching on the TV — and the Beatles are just the new band on the show. On October 17, 1962, John, Paul, George and Ringo made their television debut on People and Places, a local programme broadcast from Manchester. Only viewers in northern and north-western England could watch. They performed two songs: “Some Other Guy” and “Love Me Do,” their debut single, released just 12 days earlier. The twist? The footage is lost, believed to have been erased. A piece of music history we can read about — but can no longer watch. Now imagine someone at home hearing them for the first time — then going back to making tea. That’s what history looks like before anyone knows it’s history. ☕ 🎸 Which band would you love to have seen in a tiny venue, just before everyone discovered them? 🎧 Listen to Love Me Do — the song recording, not the lost broadcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pGOFX1D_jg
