🚀 If aliens ever discover rock ’n’ roll, Chuck Berry might be their first guitar teacher. Today, October 18, marks 100 years since Berry’s birth in 1926. His riffs helped shape the sound of rock guitar — but one of them travelled far beyond any stage. In 1977, “Johnny B. Goode” was included on the Golden Records carried by Voyager 1 and 2: a musical introduction to Earth for anyone who might someday find them. Alongside Bach and Beethoven, humanity sent an electric guitar and a story about a young musician dreaming big. It’s the collection’s only rock ’n’ roll song. 🤘 Next time you practise that opening riff, remember: this one made it into space. 🎸 Which song would YOU send to introduce humanity to the universe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4J6AZS2WBg
