The Band That Made Machines Dance In 1978, German band Kraftwerk released The Man-Machine, featuring The Robots. While rock was dominated by guitars and drums, four musicians from Düsseldorf were building a new world of synthesizers, electronic rhythms and robotic voices. They didn't just create a new sound. They made robots part of their stage identity. Their influence reached far beyond electronic music, helping shape hip hop, synth-pop and techno. Watch the video and imagine hearing this in 1978. It sounded like the future back then, and it still feels remarkably original today. Can a machine make music with soul? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9plTe80SosA
